Arsenal have been linked with Fenerbahce’s Arda Guler in recent months.

Back in December, Takvim reported that the Gunners had registered a ‘serious offer’ for the midfielder.

As well as Arsenal, the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund and Ajax are also apparently in pursuit.

Now, Goal.com has named Guler in their NXGN Nine 2023 list, and name-dropped the Gunners too.

As per the outlet, the reported Arsenal target is one of the best nine youngsters in world football.

‘Dubbed ‘The Turkish Messi’ in his homeland, Arda has been touted for the top of the game for a number of years, and has shown exactly why since breaking into the Fenerbahce first team in the summer of 2021,’ wrote Goal.com

‘The youngest goal-scorer in the club’s history, Arda possesses a dribbling ability and close control that few can match, while his eye for the spectacular has always marked him out as a special talent.

‘As well as Messi, Arda has been likened to Mesut Ozil in some quarters, and he had the chance to learn from the ex-Real Madrid and Arsenal midfielder while Ozil was playing for the Istanbul outfit.

‘The 18-year-old attacking midfielder is already a full Turkey international after making his debut in November, and the likes of Arsenal, Barcelona and Bayern Munich have all shown an interest in signing him over the past 12 months.’

Aksam – via the Liverpool Echo – claimed last summer that Fenerbahce value Guler at just under £22million.

The player’s contract runs until 2025, so it’ll be interesting to see what happens this summer.

With two years remaining on his deal as of July, could clubs start circling and making bids?

Arsenal would certainly be getting themselves an outstanding player in Guler.

He turned 18 just last month, but already he has 27 Fener appearances and one Turkey cap under his belt.

Arsenal will no doubt have scouted Guier, or be looking to do so in future.

Nonetheless, there have been numerous seals of approval that suggest he is a future superstar.

Arsenal will surely have plenty of competition for his services though, so they’ll need to work hard if they want him.
