Fabrizio Romano has told GiveMeSport that Arsenal are currently “working on many names” in the final month of the transfer window.

The Gunners have carried out some great business over the summer, bringing in five players including some much-needed acquisitions.

Arsenal were desperate for a new striker and duly addressed this by signing Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta also signed Oleksandr Zinchenko, who can play at left-back and in midfield.

Arsenal also flew under the radar to sign one of Portugal’s best young midfielders in Fabio Vieira.

Marquinhos, a top Brazilian attacking talent, and United States goalkeeper Matt Turner also joined the Gunners ranks.

There’s only one position Arsenal have tried to strengthen but to no avail so far – on the flanks.

The Gunners reportedly tried to sign Raphinha, but he ended up joining Barcelona instead.

And Arsenal have also been linked with another midfield addition – Youri Tielemans is apparently still on their radar.

Romano, writing on GiveMeSport, believes Gunners fans have an exciting few weeks ahead in terms of potential incomings.

At the same time, Arsenal need to offload some players before bringing new recruits in, he added.

“At the moment, it is not something close and more than a mystery,” wrote Romano.

“I will say that they are working on many names but at the same point now, for Arsenal, it is really important to complete the outgoings.”

Arsenal get the new Premier League season under way on Friday night when they head to Crystal Palace.
