Arsenal’s major midfield target, according to Fabrizio Romano via Caught Offside, is still Youri Tielemans, and the Gunners are expected to make a decision on whether or not to make an offer for the superb midfielder now playing for Leicester City within the next week.

According to many rumours, Tielemans is eyeing a move to the Emirates. His contract with the Foxes will expire at the end of the next season. He seems to have no intention of signing a new deal at the King Power Stadium in the near future.

Arsenal and Tielemans were apparently becoming increasingly enthusiastic about a £40 million deal, according to previous sources. However, if Arsenal is not picked to compete in the Champions League, the Belgian might move to another team, according to the speculation.

Arsenal finished sixth in the overall standings. However, it seems like Tielemans is still considering a change of scenery.

In fact, Romano has said explicitly that the 25-year-old is the team’s key midfield target. Someone else is interested in him. Arsenal, on the other hand, is still in talks. Furthermore, a decision on whether or not to make an offer might be on the horizon.

According to Romano in an interview with Caught Offside, Tielemans is seen as a market potential since he will not sign a new contract with Leicester City. “For weeks, Arsenal has been in communication with the player’s team,” Romano added.

“Arsenal has been in contact with two other clubs,” but “next week it may be crucial to properly understand if Arsenal is willing to bid for Tielemans or if they are going to reconsider their approach.”

“Arsenal has already started contacts with the player’s camp for weeks and Tielemans is considered an opportunity on the market because he will not sign a new contract with Leicester City,” Romano told Caught Offside.

“There are two other clubs in contact with his agent, but next week it can be important to really understand if Arsenal is willing to bid for Tielemans or change their strategy.”
