Arsenal now have the opportunity to replace Aaron Ramsey after learning that Corentin Tolisso will leave Bayern Munich for free this summer when his contract expires. This follows the announcement that Tolisso will leave Bayern Munich. The Gunners are looking for a new midfielder and might launch an urgent move for the Frenchman. The Frenchman would provide the sort of goal threat that Arsenal has lacked since Aaron Ramsey left for Juventus in 2019.

Tolisso has spent the previous five years at Bayern Munich, however, due to a lack of agreement between the club and the player on a new deal, Tolisso will be departing the club this summer. Bayern Munich confirmed the news on Monday. As a result, the 27-year-old player is now free to join with another club for the remainder of the summer.

Tolisso responded to the news by posting the following statement on Twitter: “A new chapter is about to begin… Thank you so much for the last five years, which have been the spark for so much improvement in both my athletic and personal lives. I wish Bayern Munich much success in the years to come!” After some time had gone, he replied to the German club’s parting message with, “A new start.”

And North London could well be the place where you can make a new start. Arsenal have previously been linked with a move for the French international, who has made 28 appearances for his country. Given Arsenal’s desire to sign a proven quality midfielder this summer, Tolisso will be one of the few players who provide greater value for money.

This is because he may now join Arsenal for free, in a scenario that is remarkably similar to the one that saw Ramsey leave Arsenal for Juventus three years ago when his contract expired. Ramsey departed Arsenal for Juventus as part of the deal. Tolisso provides a goal threat from midfield, which has been absent since Ramsey’s departure for Turin when he was 31 years old. In this way, Tolisso is akin to Aaron Ramsey.

Injury hindered Tolisso’s time at Bayern, but he still managed to score 21 goals and provide 15 assists in 118 appearances for the Bundesliga champions. Bayern Munich recently won their tenth title in a row and Tolisso’s last season with the club. Arsenal would also be obtaining a player with a proven track record of success.

The dynamic midfielder won a total of 14 titles during his time at Bayern, including the Bundesliga title in each of the five seasons he was there, as well as the Champions League in 2020. The former Lyon star also played a key role in France’s successful World Cup defence in 2018, which they won in their home nation.

Even though the Gunners won’t be able to give Tolisso the temptation of Champions League plays this season, the Frenchman is expected to be able to slot into Mikel Arteta’s midfield. This summer, Arteta wants to develop Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey’s key relationship. Tolisso would be an excellent addition to that team. Arsenal may have found the guy who can best replace the vacuum left by Ramsey if Tolisso is ready to accept a drop in position in return for more regular playing time.
