According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal and Eddie Nketiah have reached an agreement on a new five-year contract. Nketiah was a player who a number of teams across Europe had been interested in signing over the last several months.
The 22-year-old made the most of his opportunity when Alexandre Lacazette was sidelined with an illness heading into the final weeks of the current season. He earned the right to keep that first-team role after a string of fine performances, including starring roles against Chelsea and Manchester United, and he took full advantage of the opportunity when it presented itself.
We had been concerned that we might lose our rising star from the youth programme since his existing contract had moved into its last weeks recently, but it seems that we have been successful in negotiating a new long-term agreement with him.
Eddie Nketiah’s new contract will be valid until June 2027. Five year deal now set to be signed, as Arsenal wanted him to stay at all costs. ⚪️🔴 #AFC

We look like we can put the saga behind us and concentrate on our incomings, with a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette likely to be the next item on the agenda. His recent form had even seen clubs like Chelsea and Liverpool linked with his signature, while he wasn’t short of other clubs also believed to be on his radar.
