According to Goal, Arsenal have already made initial contact with Lyon about Bruno Guimaraes with a view to making an official offer for him.
The Brazilian midfielder currently turns out for Lyon, and he’s long been linked with a move to a bigger club.
In fact, this isn’t the first time Arsenal have been linked with the Ligue 1 star, they apparently wanted him back in January 2020 and now they’re having another look.
Luckily for Arsenal, it seems as though their move for Guimaraes may not be timed any better.
Lyon, like many Ligue 1 clubs, need to cash in on some of their biggest assets, and with the French outfit valuing the Brazilian at a minimum of €35m (£30m), he’s a player they may be willing to part ways with.
Arsenal have already had a consultation with Lyon about Guimaraes’ availability and those initial discussions could be followed up with an offer.
So, what type of player is Guimaraes, well the fact that Brazil manager Tite has compared him to Kevin De Bruyne in the past should tell you all you need to know.
“We currently lack a midfielder. A player like Falcao in the past or like De Bruyne today, someone able to bring more creativity, speed,” Tite, told France Football.
“Bruno Guimaraes, has enormous potential and can be that player.”
This is a talented, technical midfielder who could make a real splash at Arsenal.
