Arsenal are about to put pressure on Sheffield United to sell them Aaron Ramsdale, the Sheffield Star say.
Arsenal have already made two bids for Ramsdale, but the Blades have rejected them both.
Arsenal are determined not to give up easily, and now are said to be weighing up a third offer.
Sheffield United want £40 million for the goalkeeper, but even that hasn’t deterred the Gunners.
And Arsenal are said to be about to open up a line of communication with the Yorkshire club in a bid to prise the goalkeeper away from Bramall Lane.
That, in turn, is going to put the pressure on Sheffield United in their bid to keep their goalkeeper.
Arsenal’s strong interest in Ramsdale actually has come as a shock to many observers.
Big step up
While the 23-year-old has shown flashes of quality, he has been relegated in the last two seasons.
Ramsdale actually made a shaky start at Sheffield United, before growing into his role over the second half of the campaign, with Jurgen Klopp among his big admirers and calling the goalkeeper ‘incredible’ (Yorkshire Live).
But he would be making a step up by moving to Arsenal, and with the fee involved it would be a huge show of faith from the Gunners in the unused member of England’s Euro 2020 squad.
