Arsenal believe that their offer for Aaron Ramsdale could prove impossible to resist for the goalkeeper, the Sheffield Star say.
Arsenal are pushing to sign the Sheffield United stopper this summer, even though he has made no public desire to join them and has a £40 million valuation lingering over his head.
Ramsdale will apparently not push the Blades to sell him, which puts the Championship side in a position of power going into the negotiations.
But Arsenal think that when push comes to shove their offer could be too tempting to say no to.
Arsenal would apparently be prepared to offer him a ‘huge’ increase on his salary and also the lure of Premier League football.
Ramsdale has been playing in the top flight for two seasons running now, where he has proven capable of impressing.
He actually made a slow start at Bramall Lane, but after settling, his form in the second half of the season was strong.
With Arsenal looking to find a goalkeeper who can push Bernd Leno, Ramsdale seems to have emerged as their top choice.
Arsenal are yet to make direct contact with Sheffield United, but a bid is apparently expected to come in sooner rather than later by the Yorkshire club.
If Arsenal were to sign Ramsdale it could be a slight risk.
He has shown good reflexes and is commanding despite his tender years, but he still does make handling errors at times and this would be a big step for him.
However, Arteta appears intent on developing a young squad at Arsenal, and Ramsdale would very much fit the mould of their current targets.
