Some Arsenal fans have praised Konstantinos Mavropanos on Twitter after the defender prevented Erling Haaland from scoring yesterday.
Arsenal central defender Mavropanos lined up against Borussia Dortmund striker Haaland for Greece against Norway.
It was a friendly international which Greece won 2-1.
Haaland is one of the best young strikers in the world and has been linked with a number of clubs.
The youngster was in brilliant form this past season, banging in the goals for fun.
In fact, Haaland scored 27 goals and gave six assists in the Bundesliga this past season.
The 20-year-old also scored 10 goals and gave two assists in the Champions League.
It is not easy to stop a player like Haaland scoring, but that is exactly what Mavropanos did on Sunday, leaving some Arsenal fans on Twitter impressed, as shown below.

If he and his partner can keep Haaland quiet for 90 mins, I reckon he’d be good enough to play for Arsenal.

Mavropanos has evolved during his loan spell. He is ready

Mavropanos has made only a handful of appearances for the Arsenal first team.
The 23-year-old Greece international was out on loan at Stuttgart in 2020-21.
It will be interesting to see if Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta decides to give Mavropanos another chance in pre-season.
Arteta should at least take a close look at the 23-year-old, especially as fellow defender David Luiz is leaving the Gunners.
