Reported Arsenal target Odsonne Edouard has been tipped by Sky Sports pundit Andy Walker to have a “terrific career” in the game.
According to a report in The Telegraph last month, Mikel Arteta’s Gunners are competing with Leicester and a handful of Europe’s biggest clubs in the race for the Celtic striker.
The outlet claims that, while the Foxes are favourites for Edouard’s signature, Arsenal have not given up hope of persuading the 23 year-old to move to the Emirates Stadium.
A fee in the region of £15million to £20million is expected to be enough to convince Edouard’s parent club to part ways with the highly rated striker, added the report.
Edouard has been one of Celtic’s standout players over the years, registering 81 goals and 37 assists in green and white.
Even though he hasn’t been at his best this season, he’s still netted 20 goals in all competitions for Celtic, including 16 in the Scottish Premiership, plus six assists.
Edouard’s efforts have seen him make Walker’s Scottish Premiership Team of the Year.
“Celtic have had a rotten season but Odsonne Edouard is still the top goal scorer in Scotland,” he wrote on Sky Sports.
“He has all the ability, great close control, can move his feet so quickly and happy to go right or left to get a shot away. I think he is one that will go onto have a terrific career.”
A 23-year-old striker, with proven credentials at club and France Under-21 level, plenty of silverware on his CV and with a reported starting price of £15million – Arsenal mustn’t waste time in signing him.
