Thomas Partey hasn’t even donned Arsenal colours yet and he’s already making his new fans drool over his performances on the international stage.
The 27-year-old helped Ghana to a 5-1 win against Qatar on Monday and secured two assists in the process.
It has excited the Arsenal faithful, who will finally see him in action for their club at the weekend when they take on Manchester City.
Given that Partey is yet to train with his new team following his deadline day transfer, it will be interesting to see if Mikel Arteta throws him straight into the deep end.
One thing Arsenal fans can clearly see is that he’s ripping it up for his country and will be arriving in North London in top form.
One of Partey’s assists was especially special because it came from his own half and Arteta will be hoping it’s a case of things to come from the combative midfielder.
Arsenal’s record transfer deals
- Nicolas Pepe
- Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
- Alexandre Lacazette
- Thomas Partey
- Mesut Ozil
Whilst it’s great seeing Partey showcase his attacking intent to his new supporters, he has been purchased for his defensive bite and the much-needed energy he will bring to the middle of the park.
The likes of Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny have played that deep-lying midfield role, but the arrival of Partey will now add spice and some elevation to the midfield.
Nonetheless, a selection of Arsenal fans were once again left speechless as Partey worked his magic for his country yesterday:
