Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is working hard to strengthen his squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
The Gunners won the FA Cup in 2019/20 and again showed the potential they have under Arteta by beating Liverpool to win the traditional curtain-raiser for the new season, the Community Shield.
They need reinforcements, however, to close the gap on the top clubs in the league and they have already moved to make two big signings – bringing in forward Willian from Chelsea and defender Gabriel from Lille.
Arsenal are reportedly in pole position to sign Thomas Partey this summer.
The Atletico Madrid midfielder has reportedly rejected a new contract from the LaLiga club.
Marca report that Diego Simeone is resigned to losing the player and they are just waiting on an official bid from Arsenal.
The Gunners have been chasing Partey all summer but Atletico have not budged on the £45million release clause.
Arsenal are trying to sell players in order to raise the necessary transfer funds.
Arsenal have reportedly had a bid rejected for Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.
The Premier League side tabled a £31.2million offer, which also included a player – according to RMC Sport.
The report said: “Regarding Houssem Aouar, OL would have received an offer from Arsenal to 35 million euros plus a player. She was refused.”
Bayer Leverkusen are the latest club to express an interest in Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin.
Mikel Arteta wants to keep the Spaniard, but will sell the 25-year-old for the right price.
Paris Saint-Germain also want Bellerin, who played 15 Premier League games last season.
The Telegraph claim Leverkusen have now joined the race to sign Bellerin following a fresh injection of cash from Kai Havertz’s big-money move to Chelsea.
West Ham have offered Brazilian attacker Felipe Anderson to Arsenal, according to social media transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
The 27-year-old was impressive in his first season for the Hammers, but struggled to make an impact last term.
He’s been linked with a return to Lazio this season, but Romano says that’s not going to happen.
But it appears a move to north London may be on the cards…
“About Lazio it’s not true,” said the Italian journalist.
“Lazio don’t play with wingers so they are not going in for Felipe Anderson.
“About Arsenal, he has been offered, that’s what I’m told.
“His agents have been looking around for clubs that need a players of his skills, and Arsenal are one of the clubs that have been offered this opportunity to sign him.”
Arsenal have been delivered a blow in their pursuit of Houssem Aouar, with Lyon insisting they won’t sell for anything less than €60million.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano who posted an update on the Gunners’ chase of the forward on Twitter.
“They [Arsenal] are absolutely interested and are monitoring the situation, but nothing advanced.
“He’s a top player. They [Arsenal] have spoken with his agent.
“Again – they need to sell, but nothing less than €60m. He’d be one of the best signings this window.”
