Mikel Arteta says he’s “very clear” on what Arsenal need going into the transfer window.
But the Gunners boss is not yet ready to reveal the names to the world’s media, as he doesn’t want anything to disrupt signing the players on his wishlist.
Arteta has had a solid first season in charge at Arsenal, who can finish as high as sixth if they win their final match against Watford and other results go their way.
The Spaniard has steadied the ship since Unai Emery’s reign, and the Gunners have recorded some very promising results in recent weeks, including wins over Manchester City and Liverpool.
But there are still improvements that need to be made to the first team, particularly in defence.
And Arteta, who has hinted that he’s got targets in mind, is keen for the season to conclude so that he can start rebuilding for the 2020/21 campaign.
“We have to assess that. I am very clear of what we need,” Arteta told beIN SPORTS.
“It’s not a thing that I want to publish to the media and to the world, it’s something that we keep internally.
“But some are because we don’t have enough players in the position, sometimes because we need more specificity in some of the positions and in others because we just have to improve.”
