Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke and Gunners fans have had their fair share of differences in the past. Last summer’s cash injection to fund moves for the likes of Nicolas Pepe, Kieran Tierney and William Saliba eased the tension a bit, but Gunners fans are still not fully satisfied with their owner.
However, some new news has come to light and Kroenke has arguably made a very smart move to help Arsenal come out of this difficult financial period in a healthy position.
Arsenal owners’ parent company, Kroenke Sports and Entertainment (KSE), have decided to lend some money to the club which would allow the Gunners to pay off the loan they borrowed to build the Emirates Stadium. (Football London)
That final instalment of that money was due in 2029 which meant that Arsenal would have had to keep aside a certain amount of cash each year. That played a part in their transfer budget which has often been criticised by the fans.
Now that the money is owed to Kroenke’s main company, the interest and the return time will likely be flexible which will help the Gunners come out of this challenging financial climate in a very healthy position.
This investment (or loan) is unlikely to have any impact over Arsenal’s transfer budget this summer. However, some fans view this as a massive statement by the owners and are dreaming of the stars ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
VAR being run by Wenger. Kroenke’s have paid off our stadium debt. We are winning the treble next season.
