Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sends Instagram message to Ousmane Dembele

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has taken to social media to send his well-wishes to Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele, after the winger suffered a serious hamstring tear.

The France international, who has not played since November due to a thigh injury, had returned to training and was hoping to play a key role in the final few months of Barca’s season.

But the La Liga club confirmed that the 22-year-old suffered “a complete proximal hamstring tear in his right thigh”, with reports in Spain claiming he will miss the rest of the season.

Dembele has suffered from several serious injuries since joining Barcelona for £100million from Borussia Dortmund in 2017, completing only 10 games since his arrival at the Nou Camp.

Aubameyang, who played with Dembele at Dortmund during the 2016/17 season, posted a message to the winger on social media in light of his serious injury.

Arsenal interest in striker confirmed

Arsenal were among a host of clubs pushing to sign Peterborough United striker Ricky Jade-Jones in the January transfer window, according to the club’s director of football.

The 17-year-old has burst onto the scene for the League One side this season, making ten appearances for the club, and has reportedly been tracked by Premier League clubs for some time.

Now, it’s been claimed that  Arsenal were among four clubs pushing to sign the teenager in the January transfer window – although it was promotion-chasing Leeds trying the hardest for a deal.

However, the League One title-chasers stood firm with their stance that he would not be sold as they push for promotion to the Championship.

“We had more clubs interested in Ricky in January than we did in Ivan Toney,”

“They were all after him. United, Liverpool, Arsenal, but we told them all the same thing and that it was a waste of time bidding as we were determined to hold on to him.

“For one he is going to be a very good player for us and secondly he will be worth a lot more money a few years down the line.

“Leeds were actually the most determined to sign Ricky. They were on several times as they think Ricky is going to be the next Tammy Abraham. I told them if that’s the case he must be worth £15 million already!

“In our opinion Ricky is better off developing with us and helping us be successful. He’s a lovely lad with his feet on the ground.”
