The Four Players Arsenal Could Sell Before The European Transfer Deadline

Arsenal fans spent the first half of the transfer window complaining about being linked with the likes of Ryan Fraser and Gary Cahill – but their fortunes rapidly turned on their head thanks to Raul Sanllehi.

Their Spanish transfer guru worked miracles to secure the £72m signing of Nicolas Pepe, as well as Kieran Tierney, Dani Ceballos on loan from Real Madrid and William Saliba.

For the first time in decades, Arsenal have remembered how to sell players for decent money too.

Alex Iwobi was a homegrown Gunner but he often flattered to deceive at crucial times, so to persuade Everton to part company with £40m for him was a shrewd move by the club.

Despite the Premier League transfer window having closed last week, Sanllehi’s job is far from done because there are still almost two weeks remaining for European clubs to sign players.

Unai Emery has made it clear that Shkodran Mustafi is no longer part of his plans after the defender was left out of Arsenal’s opening two squads.

Roma are said to be interested in taking the World Cup winner on a season-long loan with a view to a £23m permanent deal.

Defensive midfielder Mohamed Elneny is evidently surplus to requirements having dropped way down the pecking order under Emery.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan seems devoid of confidence and would not be missed thanks to the emergence of Reiss Nelson and arrival of Pepe.

Lastly, Nacho Monreal will surely lose his place once Tierney is fit and with the option of Sead Kolasinac, Sanllehi could be looking for a suitor for the Spanish left-back.
